Florentine Renaissance Savonarola Chair
Florentine Renaissance Savonarola Chair
The Savonarola chair takes its name from Girolamo Savonarola, the 15th-century Florentine Dominican friar whose X-frame folding chair became one of the most recognisable silhouettes of the Italian Renaissance. This example is hand-carved in solid walnut — lion heads at the armrests, dense foliate detailing across the crest rail — and has been expertly restored and wax-polished to bring out the depth of colour that aged walnut develops over centuries. A collector's piece with genuine historical lineage, and one of the most distinctive chairs available in Sydney at this price point.
